Digital Economy And Its Role In Enhancing Financial Institutions In Algeria

Abstract

The ever-changing digital economy is explored in this study to improve financial institutions in Algeria. As digital technologies have become core to banking, Algerian financial institutions have used online banking, mobile apps, and e-payment systems to improve service delivery, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. This study highlights CPA, BNA, GIE Monétique, and SATIM's practical digital implementations and digital transformation efforts. Despite progress, this inquiry highlights regulatory problems, cultural aversion to digital payment methods, and infrastructural constraints. Consumer digital illiteracy and cybersecurity worries are further limits. According to the results, financial institutions should invest in digital infrastructure, reinforce regulatory frameworks, and improve financial literacy with cybersecurity. This will enable Algerian banks to improve service delivery and financial inclusion via the digital economy.
