Education is a complex, multidimensional process influenced by cognitive, psychological and social factors. This theoretical paper explores how mental processes, such as cognitive load and affective dimensions including motivation, anxiety and self-efficacy, as well as social influences such as peer interaction, teacher support and family involvement, interact to facilitate or hinder language learning outcomes. Drawing on recent research in applied linguistics and educational psychology, the paper identifies key cognitive and emotional principles that underpin successful language acquisition, particularly among adolescents. It also emphasises the importance of addressing learners' emotional well-being and social context in the classroom. Ultimately, this work advocates integrative approaches that combine cognitive strategies with supportive emotional and social environments to improve foreign language proficiency and mental health in educational settings.
