The Integrative Dimension Between Morphology And Tajwīd And Its Impact On Qur’anic Performance: An Applied Study In The Context Of Nāfiʿ’s Reading

Abstract : The integration of Arabic linguistic sciences with phonetic performance is essential to preserving and serving the Holy Qur’an, with "morphology (ṣarf)" and "tajwīd" being central. Morphology examines word structures, transformations, and meanings, while tajwīd governs articulation, phonetic features, and recitation rules as revealed in the Qur’an. This study investigates the extent to which morphological rules and tajwīd principles converge in ensuring accurate recitation and precise understanding of the Qur’anic text. It employs descriptive-analytical, comparative, and applied approaches through Qur’anic examples that demonstrate the impact of morphology on phonetic performance. The findings highlight a complementary cognitive relationship: morphology provides the theoretical foundation for correct pronunciation and error prevention, while tajwīd represents the practical application of phonetic phenomena rooted in morphology. Thus, integrating the two sciences is both a scholarly and pedagogical necessity for safeguarding the Qur’an in wording and meaning.
