This study evaluates the current status of digital transformation in Algeria, outlining achievements and identifying persisting gaps. It focuses on the strategies implemented by the government, the investment in essential infrastructure, and the provision of advanced information and communication technologies. This includes access to various communication networks such as the Internet, Extranet, and Intranet, as well as the availability and uptake of both fixed and mobile telephony and Internet services. The findings reveal that foundational infrastructure, including fixed and mobile Internet (4th generation modem) services and mobile telephony, is in place, supported by investments in fiber optics and satellite technologies to enhance Internet bandwidth. The transition towards e-administration and e-government has shown notable success. Nevertheless, the digitization of many services remains incomplete, hindered by resistance to change, digital illiteracy, and the prevalent digital divide.
