Tenses And Their Translations: Translating Narration Time Between French And Arabic The Case Of The Enclosed Corpse By Kateb Yacine And Its Translation By Dr. Malaka Abyad

Abstract
Abstract This article focuses on the importance of translating narration time embodied in the translation of tenses from French to Arabic. It studies the different possibilities that translators can utilize in order to fill the voids that exist in-between languages. Following an analytical contrastive method, this article proves that translators can navigate their own tools and methods to create a translation that is so close and faithful in meaning to the original text. Using Kateb Yacine’s The Enclosed Corpse and its translation by Dr. Malaka Abyad, the article verifies the existing methods related to the translation of tenses, like those provided by A. Matter and J. Hajjar, and provides new methods that might, in the future, help other translators in translating tenses in literary works. يسلط هذا المقال الضوء على أهمية ترجمة الزمن السردي المتجسد في الأزمنة من الفرنسية إلى العربية، إذ يدرس الإمكانيات المختلفة التي يمكن للمترجمين الاستفادة منها لسدّ الفجوات بين اللغتين الفرنسية والعربية. يثبت هذا المقال، باتباع منهج تحليلي تقابلي، أن المترجمين قادرون على توظيف أدواتهم وأساليبهم الترجمية لإنتاج ترجمة قريبة جدًا من النص الأصلي ودقيقة في معناها. بالاستناد الى رواية "الجثة المطوقة" لكاتب ياسين وترجمتها للدكتورة ملكة أبيض، يقوم المقال بمراجعة الأساليب الحالية المتعلقة بترجمة الأزمنة كالتي قدمها الباحثين أ. مطر وج. حجار، ويقترح أساليبا جديدة قد تساعد، في المستقبل، مترجمين آخرين على ترجمة الأزمنة في الأعمال الأدبية.
