This study examines the role of adaptive sports in reconstructing self-identity and enhancing social inclusion among individuals with special needs. Grounded in Social Identity Theory and Self-Determination Theory, the research explores the influence of institutional support and demographic factors on these processes. The sample consisted of 18 individuals with special needs (10 males and 8 females) aged between 17 and 45 years, all actively participating in adaptive sports programs The results revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between participation in adaptive sports and both self-identity reconstruction and social inclusion. These findings align with previous studies, such as those by Sherrill (2004) and Martin (2017), which emphasize the long-term empowerment benefits of adaptive sports. The study further highlights that engagement in training and competitive sports significantly contributes to building self-confidence and improving self-perception among individuals with disabilities. The research recommends the development of more inclusive sports programs tailored to the needs of individuals with special needs, along with the implementation of supportive policies that ensure full participation. By adopting strategies that integrate individuals with special needs into adaptive sports, participation rates can increase, self-identity can be strengthened, and social inclusion can be enhanced, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.
