This research aims to explore the effective teaching methods intended to engage a learner, foster decision making and embrace learning processes at universities. Through discussing active learning approaches, including flipped classroom model, problem solving collaboration and constructivism, it is explained how such strategies develop interesting and student-based environments in order to facilitate knowledge acquisition. These approaches are highlighted as a means of enabling an elastic educational process that not only makes learners responsible for their learning activities, but also helps them develop effective lifelong learning skills. Furthermore, it aims to discuss how the use of technology in teaching would respond to current learner needs as well as contribute to the effectiveness of education and individual students’ improvement. Last, this paper calls for a change in pedagogy to reflect ICT integration as well as creative and customized learning approaches that will support young learners in an ever-evolving informative world.
