Orthophonic Management Of Cancer-related Dysphagia In Head And Neck Cancer: A Theoretical And Applied Study

Authors : Boudjemai Djouhra .

Abstract

This study proposes an orthophonic protocol for cancer-related dysphagia in patients with head and neck cancer. Using a descriptive analytical method, it reviews recent clinical guidance and evidence. It shows that dysphagia results from tumor, surgery, radiotherapy, chemoradiotherapy, pain, xerostomia, fibrosis, trismus, and airway weakness. The protocol covers screening, assessment, risk classification, exercises, compensation, diet, oral care, follow-up, and coordination
