Abstract :Discussing the body from a philosophical perspective requires taking into account the various factors that have shaped this discourse across different historical periods, from the beginnings of ancient philosophy to the present day. Traditionally, the body has been associated with the material aspect of human existence, implying transience, change, and decay. For most rationalist philosophers, the body was seen as the source of sin and evil within the human being, thereby diminishing human value. Consequently, these thinkers called for a detachment from the body in order to live authentically as rational beings. This view, however, underwent a significant transformation in modern times, as the body became a subject of knowledge, philosophical reflection, and written discourse. These writings have shown that the body is not inferior in existential value to the mind; on the contrary, it has come to function as a kind of passport for the individual in the modern world. How, then, did the perception of the body shift from condemnation and exclusion to a site of existential value for contemporary humanity? Keywords: Body; Value; Condemnation; Mind; Philosophy; Ancient; Modern. Abstract :Discussing the body from a philosophical perspective requires consideration of many factors that have surrounded this topic throughout history, from the ancient history of philosophy to the present day. This concept has been linked to the physical dimension of human beings, which refers to transience, change and decay. For most rational philosophers, the body was a source of sin and evil that emanated from human beings and diminished their value. This led them to call for a break with the body if human beings wanted to live their essence as rational beings. However, this changed in the contemporary period when the body became a subject of knowledge, philosophically contemplated and written about. These writings revealed that the body is no less existentially valuable than the mind, but rather more so, as it has become a passport for humans in the contemporary world. How did the perception of the body shift from one of condemnation and exclusion to one of existential value for contemporary humans? Keywords: Body - Value- Condemnation - Mind - Philosophy - Ancient - Modern
