Authors : Boukhabla Salim . Rais Abdelhak .

Abstract

Digital transformation is reshaping control mechanisms in economic institutions through AI, blockchain, big data, and cloud computing—shifting from manual, reactive processes to automated, data-driven, and proactive systems. These technologies enable real-time monitoring, predictive risk management, and greater transparency, enhancing governance and efficiency. Drawing on systems, agency, contingency, and institutional theories, this article analyzes the evolution of digital control mechanisms. It also addresses key challenges—including cybersecurity, data ethics, and organizational adaptation—underscoring the need for ethical oversight and human involvement alongside technological innovation. Ultimately, effective integration of digital tools with responsible governance fosters more adaptive, transparent, and resilient institutions, supporting sustainable growth and trust in the digital global economy.
