Authors : Laoufi Hakima . Benounissa Leila .

Abstract

Empowering women and fully utilizing their potential in the labor market is important for achieving economic gains. There are gender gaps approaching 27%. Aguir and Others study indicates that increasing the female labor force participation rate compared to males can have a positive impact. He also emphasized that a total of 812 million women worldwide have the potential to contribute to the economy, and increasing female participation contributes to increased economic growth. Women's economic contribution receives special attention in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. Algeria has worked to integrate women into the economy and increase their empowerment by enacting laws that limit gender inequality. This study aims to analyze indicators of gender disparities in the labor market and the extent of women's empowerment in Algeria, relying on statistics to demonstrate the transformations that are narrowing the gender gap. The study results showed that education has a positive impact as a key element in empowering women in various fields, and the same applies to fertility rates and wages. However, in the political sphere, despite the space provided for women's participation, women's ambitions have not yet reached the desired level.
