This article examines the influence of postmodern literature on social critique, focusing on its application in Africa through an analysis of Véronique Tadjo's novel Queen Pokou. Postmodern literature challenges established literary norms and historical and cultural narratives, thereby paving the way for questioning official narratives and authoritarian power structures in Africa. By considering this work as an example of subversion of social discourse, the article offers a critical reflection on the founding legend of the Baoulés in Côte d'Ivoire.
