The Impact Of Information Technology On The Value Chain Of The Higher Education Institution: A Case Study Of The University Of May 8, 1945 – Guelma

Abstract
The study aimed to explore the impact of Information Technology, with its various dimensions, on the value chain at the University of May 8, 1945 – Guelma. The researcher adopted both descriptive and quantitative approaches, using an electronic questionnaire distributed to a random sample of 288 permanent faculty members. Data were analyzed using SPSS and Amos software, and the results revealed a clear positive impact of Information Technology on the value chain, particularly on primary activities. Software-related resources had the strongest influence, followed by data-related resources and communication networks. The findings reflect the university's focus on digitally supporting teaching and scientific research. The study recommends broader digitization of academic and administrative activities. It also suggests transitioning toward a fully integrated digital university model to enhance performance and institutional efficiency.
