Assessment Of Information Technology Dimensions In The Algerian University: An Applied Study At The University Of May 8, 1945 – Guelma

Abstract

The abstract This study aims to assess the dimensions of Information Technology at the University of May 8, 1945 – Guelma, by surveying a random sample of 288 permanent professors. The data was collected using an electronic questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS V.20. The results revealed a moderate level of information technology utilization at the university, reflected in an average evaluation of hardware resources, software, and data. In contrast, communication networks and human competencies received lower ratings. These findings indicate a relative imbalance in the university's digital infrastructure, which weakens the efficiency of leveraging available technological capabilities. Accordingly, the study recommends the academic and technical qualification of human resources through continuous training programs, along with the updating and strengthening of communication networks to ensure a more stable and effective digital environment that supports the needs of higher education and scientific research. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تقييم أبعاد تكنولوجيا المعلومات في جامعة 8 ماي 1945 - قالمة، من خلال استطلاع عينة عشوائية مكونة من 288 أستاذاً دائمًا. تم جمع البيانات باستخدام استبيان إلكتروني وتحليلها بواسطة البرنامج الإحصائي SPSS الإصدار 20. وقد كشفت النتائج عن مستوى متوسط لاستخدام تكنولوجيا المعلومات في الجامعة، تجلّى في تقييم متوسط لموارد الأجهزة والبرمجيات والبيانات. في المقابل، حصلت شبكات الاتصال والكفاءات البشرية على تقييمات أقل. وتشير هذه النتائج إلى وجود خلل نسبي في البنية التحتية الرقمية للجامعة، مما يُضعف من فعالية استغلال الإمكانيات التكنولوجية المتاحة. وبناءً على ذلك، توصي الدراسة بتأهيل الموارد البشرية أكاديميًا وتقنيًا من خلال برامج تدريبية مستمرة، إلى جانب تحديث وتقوية شبكات الاتصال لضمان بيئة رقمية أكثر استقرارًا وفعالية تدعم احتياجات التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي.
