زِيَادَةُ "كَادَ" بَيْنَ التَّقْعِيدِ النَّحْوِيِّ وَالتَّطْبِيقِ القُرْآنِيِّ The Redundant Use Of "kāda" Between Grammatical Codification And Qur’anic Application

Abstract: This study aims to examine the issue of the redundancy (ziyāda) of Kāda in the Qur’an through a syntactic and analytical approach. It investigates its occurrences in exegetical and grammatical sources, discusses the positions of classical grammarians regarding the permissibility of deeming Kāda redundant, and favors the opinion best supported by contextual and semantic evidence. The core objective is to assess the validity of interpreting Kāda as redundant in specific Qur’anic instances, exploring the implications of such interpretation on meaning and syntax, and evaluating its legitimacy in light of grammatical principles and classical Arabic usage. The research adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology by collecting relevant material on Kāda from grammar and tafsīr sources, analyzing the Qur’anic instances where Kāda has been claimed to be redundant, and discussing competing grammatical analyses, with preference given to the view most strongly supported by context and linguistic clues. The study is guided by several key questions: Is it permissible to consider Kāda redundant in certain Qur’anic verses? What are the conditions for declaring a verb redundant? What are the arguments of those who affirm or deny its redundancy? Does interpreting Kāda as redundant affect the meaning or syntactic structure of the sentence? Are there stronger grammatical alternatives to the redundancy claim?
