The Impact Of Inflation Level Shocks On The Dynamic Response Of Insurance Inclusion In Algeria During The Period 1990–2024

Authors : Belghalem Hamza . Ilifi Mohamed .

Abstract

Insurance inclusion is a key driver of financial protection and sustainable growth. In Algeria, inflation shocks constrain participation in insurance programs. Using the NARDL model (1990–2024). results show indicate that a positive inflation shock (inflation increase) reduces insurance inclusion by 0.84 units, while a negative inflation shock (inflation decrease) increases insurance inclusion by 0.93 units. Additionally, investment in higher education and lower unemployment levels contribute to enhanced insurance participation, supporting financial and social stability
