Understanding The Quiet Learner And Teacher: Do We All Have To Be Active In Class?

Authors : Fersaoui Imane .

Abstract

This paper attempts to understand the quiet learner and the quiet teacher. It is important to gain insight into this area because teachers and learners with quiet voices and unspoken minds are usually either misunderstood or overlooked. The issue is complex as it can be read and interpreted from multiple perspectives. Therefore, this theoretical analysis aspires to delve into quietness in teachers and learners by investigating their characteristics, teaching methods, and learning preferences. Overall, the findings collected through the scanning of existing studies reveal that quietness and introversion in learners and teachers are not rare, yet they are misapprehended and confounded with laziness or lack of interest and engagement in learners, and weakness or lack of competence in teachers.
