Challenges Of E-learning At Algerian Universities: A Foresighted Psycho-pedagogical Approach Based On Vygotsky's Social Constructivist Theory

Authors : Otmania Abdallah .

Abstract

This research paper aims to analyse the challenges of e-learning in Algerian universities from the perspective of Vygotsky's social constructivist theory. From a foresighted vision, it highlights the psychological dimensions represented by feelings of isolation and low motivation, and the educational dimensions embodied in the difficulty of achieving constructive interaction, in addition to other obstacles. It proposes using these concepts to design participatory learning environments that promote the social construction of knowledge, where the role of the teacher becomes that of a guide and mentor, while the student becomes an active partner in the production of knowledge. It also calls for the adoption of effective assessment mechanisms that focus on group performance and collaborative processes. It also emphasises that overcoming these challenges requires the development of digital infrastructure, the training of human resources, and the production of interactive content tailored to the psychological and educational characteristics of Algerian university students, within an integrated strategy that combines technical and psycho-educational aspects to achieve effective and comprehensive e-learning. This will have a positive impact on the output of Algerian universities by developing competent human resources that contribute to the country's development in all domains.
