Social Marginalization As A Mechanism Generating A Culture Of Violent Protest Among Algerian Youth – A Sociological Approach To The Dysfunctions Of Integration And Recognition

Abstract
This research paper examines the phenomenon of violent protest behavior among Algerian youth as a product of multi-dimensional structural crises that intertwine economic marginalization, social exclusion, and cultural disruption. The study proceeds from the hypothesis that these protests are not merely random reactions or circumstantial disturbances; rather, they represent a symbolic expression of a profound struggle over the reconfiguration of actors' positions within the social system, amidst the breakdown of integration and recognition mechanisms. The study endeavored to analyze the factors fueling these protests, revealing dynamics linked to distortions within the cultural system and a crisis of institutional legitimacy. It concluded that violent protest behavior reflects a rejection of the existing order, which no longer provides youth with a space for belonging and recognition; consequently, it necessitates a restructuring of the social system through deconstructing structures of marginalization and activating comprehensive policies for cultural, social, and political integration. The study recommended adopting a strategic vision that integrates youth as partners in shaping the future by enhancing mechanisms of restorative justice instead of punitive solutions, reforming the educational system to serve as a platform for empowerment rather than exclusion, and opening spaces for dialogue and cultural expression that reframe the relationship between the state and youth on new foundations of mutual trust and equitable recognition, as this transformation is not merely a political necessity but a fundamental prerequisite for ensuring the stability and future of Algerian society. تتناول هذه الورقة البحثية ظاهرة السلوك الاحتجاجي العنيف لدى الشباب الجزائري بوصفها نتاجا لأزمات بنيوية متعددة الأبعاد تمزج بين التهميش الاقتصادي، الإقصاء الاجتماعي، والاضطراب الثقافي. تنطلق الدراسة من فرضية مفادها أن هذه الاحتجاجات ليست مجرد ردود فعل عشوائية أو اضطرابات ظرفية بل هي تعبير رمزي عن صراع عميق حول إعادة تشكيل مواقع الفاعلين داخل النسق الاجتماعي في ظل تعطل آليات الإدماج والاعتراف. حاولت الدراسة تحليل العوامل التي تغذي هذه الاحتجاجات لتكشف عن ديناميكيات ترتبط بتشوهات النسق الثقافي ومأزق الشرعية المؤسسية. خلصت الدراسة إلى أن السلوك الاحتجاجي العنيف يعكس رفضا للمنظومة القائمة التي لم تعد توفر للشباب فضاء للانتماء والاعتراف لذلك يتطلب إعادة هيكلة النسق الاجتماعي من خلال تفكيك بنى التهميش وتفعيل سياسات شاملة للإدماج الثقافي والاجتماعي والسياسي. وأوصت الدراسة بتبني رؤية إستراتيجية تدمج الشباب كشركاء في صناعة المستقبل من خلال تعزيز آليات العدالة التصالحية بدلا من الحلول العقابية، إصلاح النظام التعليمي ليكون منصة تمكين بدلا من الإقصاء، وفتح فضاء للحوار والتعبير الثقافي بما يعيد صياغة العلاقة بين الدولة والشباب على أسس جديدة من الثقة المتبادلة والاعتراف المتكافئ.
