Abstract: In response to the negative consequences and impacts of the health insecurity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, countries were forced to adopt strict measures to tackle this global crisis. These actions were justified by the need to protect public health. At the same time, states were responsible for maintaining a delicate balance between these precautionary measures and the protection of human rights against violations. Therefore, when studying the human rights implications of the response to COVID-19, a key question arises: to what extent have countries fulfilled their obligations to safeguard public health while also ensuring individual rights? This analysis highlights the importance of balancing public health protection with the commitment to uphold human rights.
