The Penal Status Of International Employees In Relation To The Maintenance Of International Relations

Authors : Zebiri Maria .

Abstract

Abstract: To uphold the essential foundations necessary for international organizations to effectively carry out their responsibilities, it is crucial for international employees to have a distinct penal status. This status is established through the provision of specific privileges and immunities, which empower them to perform their international functions freely and independently, without being subject to external pressures or conspiracies from states. Such international immunity is a direct consequence of recognizing organizations as entities with international legal personality, which signifies their independence and that of their employees in relation to sovereign nations. This unique penal status reflects the demands of their roles and the necessity of ensuring the smooth operation of international relations. However, this judicial privilege may be limited in certain circumstances to prevent potential abuses, necessitating that states implement all available measures to address any misuse of these privileges effectively.
