Authors : Bouhella Chahira . Lamdjad Chahrazad .

Abstract

This study examines the media coverage framework of the Al-Aqsa Flood by the Fox News website during October 2023. To address this issue, a descriptive-analytic approach was adopted using a content analysis tool for a sample of an estimated 100 news publications. This study was based on media framing theory, and concluded with several findings, the most important of which are: The Fox News website was largely negative about Hamas, viewing it as a terrorist organization that must be eliminated in the interest of Israel's security. It also considered all types and forms of Palestinian resistance as terrorist acts. The news site used many media frames to report on the events of the Al-Aqsa flood. The most important of these is the frame of responsibility, in which the Hamas movement was blamed for the outbreak of war between the two sides. Historical frames such as the Jewish Holocaust and the events of September 11 were also used to influence the American public in particular and Western opinion in general.
