Abstract: Since the signing of the four Geneva Conventions in 1949 and the international texts that preceded them, international humanitarian law has established a set of principles regulating armed conflicts. Perhaps the most important of these is the principle of proportionality, which requires balancing the targeted military advantages with the possible collateral damage. However, this was not respected at all in the aggression against the occupied Palestinian territories, specifically the Gaza Strip, which resulted in serious and grave violations among civilians and objects protected under these laws
