Summary: Indiscriminate attacks are among the most significant violations of the principle of distinction between military objectives and civilian objects, given their devastating effects on civilians and protected objects. They also violate the principle of proportionality between actual or potential military advantages and collateral damage. In its war on Gaza, the Israeli aggression demonstrated its disregard for all the principles established by international humanitarian law, foremost among them the principle of distinction. Furthermore, it used the targeting of civilians, whether by killing them or starving them to death, as a means of pressuring the resistance, in flagrant defiance of the international legal system. Furthermore, it often deliberately directs these attacks against protected civilian objects, thereby violating all the rules and norms of armed conflict
