Abstract

The current study aims to address the latest approaches in building human societies, which is the competency-based teaching approach. This approach has become the focus of various researchers in the field of pedagogy and didactics due to its ability to keep up with the latest global and technological developments, its effective results in improving the outputs of the education system, its openness to the needs of the global and international market, its belief in the philosophy of continuous improvement, and its adoption of modern active teaching strategies that believe in the positive view of the learner and their effective role in mobilizing their abilities, skills, and performance to reach competence and professional expertise. Therefore, the study will define the approach adopted in our educational system, its objectives, its theoretical foundations, and its most famous strategies
