Abstract

Abstract: The internet has gained a prominent presence in the professional and private lives of societies in general, and families and children in particular, due to the many benefits it offers this latter group in the areas of learning, communication, and entertainment, especially since information technology has become an approved educational subject within the curricula of some educational institutions. Despite the benefits of the internet in developing children's abilities and skills, it also represents a dangerous environment for them due to the numerous and varied risks it contains, including: cyberbullying, online harassment, the dissemination of private information, phishing, falling victim to scams, downloading malware, etc. Recognizing the importance of protecting children from the dangers of the internet, international and national legal mechanisms have been established to address or mitigate these risks.
