The Role Of Agile Leadership In Reducing Resistance To Change: A Case Study Of A Sample Of Algerian Economic Enterprises

Authors : Haroun Samira . Arabi Mahfoud .

Abstract

This study examined the impact of agile leadership, across its dimensions, on reducing employees’ resistance to change through a case study of selected Algerian economic enterprises. A descriptive-analytical approach was adopted, using SPSS to analyze data collected from a questionnaire administered to 522 employees. The findings revealed a high level of agile leadership, with mean scores of 4.45 for the performance dimension and 4.20 for the innovation dimension, while resistance to change was low, as indicated by behavioral (1.64) and emotional (1.94) dimensions. A moderate negative correlation was found between agile leadership and resistance to change (r = −0.447, α = 0.05), with a statistically significant effect (β = −0.502) explaining 20% of the variance. No significant differences were observed based on demographic or professional variables. The study recommends enhancing performance through transparent evaluation systems, promoting empowerment practices such as delegation and recognition, fostering an adaptive culture that supports learning from failure, and strengthening communication to reduce resistance in dynamic environments.
