In this article, we examine the social representations of artificial intelligence (AI) within the Algerian university context. Our aim is to analyze how both teachers and students construct their perceptions of this technology, which oscillate between fascination, curiosity, and critical vigilance. We situate our analysis within an academic framework that addresses the pedagogical, cultural, and societal dimensions of AI, while emphasizing the challenges it poses for higher education. This study seeks to contribute to the scientific debate on the integration of AI into Algerian universities and to propose avenues for fostering a critical, contextualized, and responsible appropriation of these technologies.
