Economists' interest in human capital is ancient, evident in the thought of Adam Smith, who considered all the acquired capabilities of a country's population as part of its capital. Concerns then shifted with the development of the role of the human element, from Von Thumen to Irving Fisher to Marshall, who emphasized the importance of human capital and even emphasized the importance of investing in education... The beginning of serious interest in the economics of education can be traced back to T.W. Schultz's famous lecture in December 1960 before the American Economic Association. Since then, the economics of education has become an independent branch of economic studies, and education is one of the most important branches of educational economics and investment in human capital, especially in light of the requirements of the knowledge economy.
