Palestinian poetics emerge from the heart of an exceptional existential experience where politics intersects with history, exile with longing, and identity with resistance. It is not merely a literary product of a society under occupation, but rather a comprehensive cultural form that responds to moments of collapse and rebirth. Through its symbolic and aesthetic tools, it embodies the Palestinian human struggle for survival, recognition, and dignity. In this context, Mahmoud Darwish’s poetics appear as the central core in shaping this poetic consciousness — not only because he is one of the pillars of Palestinian poetry, but because he redefined its very concept, moving beyond slogans and rhetoric toward a complex poetics that embraces existential and political contradictions, and rearticulates the relationship between word and identity, between language and place.
