Abstract

Abstract: The study aimed to uncover the nature of the relationship between parenting styles and addiction to social media platforms among middle school students in the state of Saida. The sample consisted of 100 male and female students from middle schools in the city of Saida. The Parenting Styles Scale (Sheffer, 1958) and the Social Media Addiction Scale were administered to the participants. The results indicated a positive correlation between the parenting styles of both fathers and mothers and addiction to social media platforms. Additionally, the study revealed that the level of addiction among middle school students to social media platforms was high, with Facebook being the most frequently used site by the study sample.
