This study investigates how familial narrative communication serves as a space for cultural dialogue and the construction of gender roles, particularly those assigned to women in Algerian society. It focuses on Algerian proverbs directed at women, analyzed through semantic and persuasive lenses. The study adopts a pragmatic-linguistic approach to qualitative discourse analysis, using semantic field analysis and intentional sampling to select commonly used proverbs related to both genders. Findings reveal that these proverbs have a persuasive impact on women's behavior due to their contextual connotations, especially those related to shame within the family setting. Ultimately, the narrative family space reproduces cultural messages that reflect and reinforce gender inequality, making proverbs powerful tools in shaping societal norms
