This study investigates the use of body language as a semiotic device for reinforcing hegemony within political discourse, with a particular focus on Donald Trump’s discourse. It adopts a semiotic framework informed by Gramsci’s and Bourdieu’s theories of hegemony, as well as the semiotic models of Saussure and Peirce. Trump’s body movements are deliberately orchestrated to project authority whether by conveying confidence or by visually diminishing his opponents. From Bourdieu’s perspective, such symbolic violence facilitates the subtle imposition of power, rendering dominance naturalized and socially legitimate. The study concluded with several findings, the most significant of which is that Trump's personality exhibits narcissistic and authoritarian behavioral tendencies. Nonetheless, he possesses a bold and strong character, along with high self-confidence, which enables him to inspire followers and domination political discourse.
