Abstract: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) launched the Awqaf Properties Investment Fund (APIF) in 2001, with 19 current participants, including the IsDB, Islamic banks, individual investors, ministries of awqaf, and non-profit organizations. The Fund’s mission is to finance income-generating commercial and residential waqf properties through a strategy that promotes the development and investment of endowment assets in accordance with Sharia principles, both in member and non-member countries. The study’s problem centers on assessing the Fund’s success in achieving sustainable waqf-based development and strengthening the model of international Islamic finance. The findings indicate that the Fund’s operational mechanism provides an effective model for transforming waqf assets into productive financial and investment instruments that foster financial sustainability and socio-economic development. Moreover, the Fund continues to enhance its mechanisms to achieve better outcomes in the future.
