A Descriptive Study On The Child Spatial Representation (08 To 12 Years Old)

Abstract

This study aims at identifying the phases of spatial representation development for children. The sample includes 60 children of 08 to 12 years old with no impairments. The informants are divided into 03 equal groups according to age. To achieve the study objectives, we used two spatial tests; the Three Mountains Test and Size Storing Test. Findings show that when representing the space, children go through the same phases mentioned by Piaget in his studies; but in different ages. Besides, the sociocultural environment affects the age phases of the spatial representation of children.
