The Effect Of The Attention Deficit And The Hyperactivity Disorder On The Calculus Skills Of The Students Of The Second Cycle At The Primary Education

Abstract

This paper tackles one of the developmental troubles that affect the humans during childhood. It studies the effect of the attention deficit and the hyperactivity disorder ADHD on the calculus skills of the students of the second cycle at the primary education. To achieve the study aims, we conducted a field study on sample of 20 students (males and females) aged between 08 and 11. The sample was divided into two equal groups; a group of the normal students and a group of those showing ADHD. The informants had been chosen on purpose after making the diagnosis through interviews, Stroop test, and Conners scale. To check the hypotheses, the author used Zareki Battery of calculus, adapted to the Algerian environment by Hassan Lamia. Besides, she conducted the two independent samples t test to study the differences between the two groups. Findings show that there are statistically significant differences between the ADHD students and the normal ones regarding the calculus.
