Women’s Entrepreneurship In Sustainable Tourism: A Bibliometric Analysis

Authors : Lin Yihuan . Zhang Juan .

Abstract

Women’s entrepreneurship in sustainable tourism has grown fast, but the field has never been mapped. This paper applies bibliometric analysis to 65 Scopus-indexed articles (2012–2026) to chart, for the first time, how this literature is structured. Output is concentrated in a small number of core journals and distributed across a large, dispersed author base. Five thematic clusters are identifiable from keyword co-occurrence patterns, with a marked shift in emphasis since 2022. Qualitative and quantitative approaches appear in roughly equal proportions; mixed-methods designs are almost entirely absent. SDG alignment is heavily weighted toward gender equality, with poverty reduction and responsible consumption receiving limited explicit attention. The map shows a field still in formation and points to where future research would be most productive.
