Abstract:This study examines the phenomenon of transnational intellectual communities as one of the most pressing non-traditional challenges to societal security in the Arab world. Based on the Copenhagen School’s framework of security studies, it explores how such networks undermine national identity and cohesion by fostering external loyalties. Using an analytical-comparative approach, the study reviews cases including the Muslim Brotherhood, Salafi networks, Shi’a militias, Francophone elites, and the Zionist movement, highlighting their shared mechanisms despite different ideological foundations. Findings indicate that these communities represent a form of soft intellectual warfare that transcends military threats by eroding identity and the social contract. The research concludes that countering such dynamics requires comprehensive strategies combining educational reform, stronger national identity, resilient state institutions, and enhanced regional and international cooperation.
