This paper explores how Franz Fanon's colonial violence theories manifest in Fernando Vallejo's novel La Virgen de los Sicarios (1994) and Barbet Schroeder's film adaptation (2000). The research demonstrates that both works fulfill Fanon's predictions about revolutionary violence becoming perverted in neocolonial settings. Vallejo's sicarios embody fragmented colonial subjects within Colombia's neocolonial framework, where transnational capital and drug cartels replace traditional colonial powers while maintaining exploitation patterns. The analysis reveals how potentially liberating violence transforms into commodified self-destruction, examining the ethical implications of representing marginalized violence for privileged consumption.
