The Role Of Digitalization In Enhancing The Functional Performance Of Commercial Banks: A Case Study Of The Bank Of Agriculture And Rural Development (badr) – Operations Directorate, Annaba Province

Abstract
The study aimed to shed light on the role of digitalization in improving the functional performance of commercial banks, relying on the descriptive and analytical approach and using the questionnaire as the primary tool for collecting primary data. The questionnaire was distributed to the study sample, which consisted of employees of the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development – Annaba. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to analyze the data and test the validity of the hypotheses, employing various statistical methods. The study concluded that adopting the concept of digitalization in the bank leads to improved functional performance, as the functional performance of employees depends on the digitalization employed to maintain workflow. Furthermore, the adoption of digitalization ensures the enhancement of the quality of functional performance. Among the most important recommendations of the study is the need for senior management to increase its attention to the implementation of digitalization and to direct it in a manner that serves the interests of the Bank of Agriculture and Rural Development.
