The State has endeavoured to provide a diversified economic environment, thus encouraging the establishment of numerous regulated institutions that ensure the progress of development. However, despite the importance of these institutions, their activities continue to threaten human health, property and the environment. In order to prevent such damage, Algerian law has put in place a number of preventive measures, as well as the deterrent measures provided for in Law No. 10/03 on the protection of the environment within the framework of sustainable development and Executive Decree No. 198/06, which sets the regulation applied to institutions classified for environmental protection.
