The Journal of Research in Contracts and Business Law is an international, double-blind peer-reviewed, published semi-annually and free of charge, open-access journal published by the Contracts and Business Law Laboratory in Faculty law The Mentouri Brothers University of Constantine1, Algeria. The journal focuses on the following topics: Law, Business Law. It provides an academic platform for professionals and researchers to contribute innovative work in the field. The journal carries original and full-length articles that reflect the latest research and developments in practical aspects of Business Law. The journal is published in both electronic and printed versions. The online version is free access and download. in a two languages; Arabic and English and French. All researchers around the world are very welcome in our International Journal.

Description

The biannual Journal of Research in Contracts and Business Law is an internationally peer-reviewed scientific journal that specializes in contracts and business law.

It is published by the Contracts and Business Laboratory at the University of Mentouri Constantine's Faculty of Law.

The journal promotes scientific research in contracts and business law by encouraging peer-reviewed studies in this field that align with the requirements of the modern economy from rigorous scientific and academic perspectives.

The journal respects the efforts of researchers to embody modern scientific principles in the field of contracts and business law by adhering to scientific integrity and rejecting all forms of plagiarism contrary to the provisions and rules of scientific research.

Aim and Scope

The journal publishes research on a variety of topics in the fields of private and business law, with a particular focus on contracts (theory, types, and liability) and commercial and economic regulation.

The journal especially welcomes work on the following topics:

  • Contract law: general theory, named and unnamed contracts, real estate promotion, donation, commercial and specialized commercial contracts, consumer contracts, business contracts, technology transfer contracts, international trade contracts, and e-commerce contracts.
  • Liability: Contractual liability, negligence (tort) liability, and professional liability.
  • Topics in business and commercial law: companies, commercial premises, maritime law, bankruptcy and judicial settlement, economic groups, competition law, consumer law, banking law, insurance law, investment law, customs law, business taxation law, business criminal law, commercial arbitration law, intellectual property law, and foreign trade law.
  • The journal also accepts timely and emerging themes aligned with academic and professional needs, as well as current economic and social realities, as selected by its scientific committee (including civil law, family law, independent administrative authorities and economic control, general economic law, Islamic law, and international economic law).

Publishing Ethics

The publication of an article in a peer reviewed journal is an essential model for our journal “Research in Contracts and Business Law Review”.

In order to provide our readers with a journal of highest quality, we state the following principles of Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement.

Our ethic statements are based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

It is necessary to agree upon standards of expected ethical behaviour for all parts involved in the act of publishing: Editors, authors, and reviewers.

Research in Contracts and Business Law Review is fully committed to good publication practice and assumes the task of fulfilling the following duties and responsibilities.

1) Duties of the Editor

  • Publication decisions: The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published, guided by the journal’s editorial policies and applicable legal requirements (e.g., libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism), and may consult the Editorial Board and reviewers.
  • Fair review: Each manuscript is evaluated on its intellectual content without regard to race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
  • Confidentiality: The Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board members, and editorial staff do not disclose information about a submitted manuscript except to the authors, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher as appropriate.
  • Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript will not be used in the research of the Editor-in-Chief or Editorial Board members without the expressed written consent of the author.

2) Duties of Reviewers

  • Contribution to editorial decisions: Peer review assists the Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board in making editorial decisions and helps authors improve their papers.
  • Promptness: A reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research or cannot complete a timely review should notify the editor and decline to review the paper (via the ASJP platform where applicable).
  • Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review are treated as confidential documents and are not shared or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.
  • Standards of objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively; personal criticism of the author is unacceptable; reviewers should express views clearly with supporting arguments.
  • Acknowledgement of sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors and report substantial similarity or overlap with other published work.
  • Disclosure and conflict of interest: Information obtained through peer review is confidential and not used for personal advantage; reviewers should not consider manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

3) Duties of Authors

  • Reporting standards: Authors must accurately present original research and objectively discuss its significance; manuscripts should follow the journal’s submission guidelines and be language-edited before submission; data should be represented accurately with sufficient detail and references for replication.
  • Originality and plagiarism: Authors must ensure the work is original and properly cite others’ work; the journal may use plagiarism-detection software to screen submissions.
  • Multiple, redundant, or concurrent publication: Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal or publish essentially the same research in multiple venues.
  • Data access and retention: Authors should retain raw data and provide it for editorial review upon request.
  • Disclosure and conflicts of interest: Authors must disclose financial or other substantive conflicts of interest and all sources of financial support.
  • Authorship of the paper: Authorship is limited to those who made significant contributions to conceiving, designing, executing, and/or interpreting the study.
  • Acknowledgement of sources: Proper acknowledgment and referencing of others’ work is required.
  • Fundamental errors in published works: Authors must promptly notify the editor/publisher of significant errors and cooperate to retract or correct the paper.

Open Access Policy and Licensing

The Journal of Research in Contracts and Business Law is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to providing free and permanent access to high-quality research in the fields of contract law, business law, and related legal and economic topics.

All published content is freely available online to readers worldwide, allowing reading, downloading, copying, distributing, printing, searching, linking to full texts, and use for any lawful non-commercial purpose, without barriers beyond those required for internet access.

All articles are available immediately upon publication, with no embargo period and no registration, subscription, or pay-per-view fees.

The journal publishes content under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This license enables users to:

  • Share: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt: remix, transform, and build upon the material.

Authors maintain copyright ownership of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication under the CC BY-NC 4.0 terms.

Archiving and Repository Policy

The Journal of Research in Contracts and Business Law is committed to the long-term preservation, security, and accessibility of all published content through reliable electronic archiving on an official national academic journals platform.

All published articles are permanently stored on the journal’s official webpage on the platform and remain freely available under the journal’s open-access policy.
