Digital transformation (DT) represents a structural, pedagogical, and cultural revolution in higher education. It encompasses the integration of advanced technologies—such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing—into teaching, research, and governance. This article examines the multidimensional impact of DT on higher education institutions (HEIs) through a cross-linguistic and cross-cultural perspective, relying on academic sources in English, Arabic, and French. It identifies major areas of transformation: digital pedagogy, administrative governance, and research innovation. The analysis demonstrates that while DT enhances access, efficiency, and flexibility, it simultaneously raises challenges related to equity, cybersecurity, and ethics. The study argues that the success of DT depends not only on technology but on a cultural redefinition of universities as inclusive, data-driven, and value-oriented organizations.
