This research addresses the phenomenon of trafficking in persons and their smuggling in the African continent,as one of the increasing and ongoing activities of terrorist groups operating under organized and transnational crimes, alongside drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and abductions for ransom. Additionally, this research examines the role played by African countries in confronting human trafficking within the framework of the African Union. The study concluded that the latter established a regional mechanism represented in African Union cooperation and AFRIPOL to prevent these various security threats.Ultimately, this reflects African states' recognition that an effective response to various organized criminal activities on the continent requires confrontation through police coordination methods, exchange of expertise, and expanding their scope in terms of training and supporting African police capacities.
