An Analytical Econometric Study Of The Relationship Between Export Diversification And Economic Growth In Algeria During The Period (1990–2023)

Abstract

The research seeks to assess and study the effects of export diversification on Algeria's economic growth from 1990 to 2023 by applying the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach. The study also explores statistical trends in exports and economic growth to analyze their development throughout the examined timeframe. The study confirms a long-run equilibrium relationship among the analyzed variables, demonstrating cointegration between them. Furthermore, the results indicate a one-way causality running from GDP growth to hydrocarbon exports. Additionally, non-hydrocarbon exports contribute positively to economic growth only in the long term, while hydrocarbon exports exhibit a statistically significant and favorable impact in both the short and long run
