Algeria has progressively strengthened its anti-corruption framework, institutionalizing the National Authority for the Prevention and Fight against Corruption in 2006 and recognizing it constitutionally in 2016. A 2020 constitutional amendment replaced this body with the High Authority for Transparency and Anti-Corruption, granting it independence and expanded powers. Law No. 22-08 of 2022 further defined its organization and functions, consolidating its role as a constitutional institution dedicated to promoting transparency and accountability in public governance.
