Speaking is considered as significant skill in learning foreign languages, yet, learners are usually hesitated to take part in oral communication sessions because of the increasing stress and anxiety. Flipped classroom is one of the innovative strategies that promotes self-confidence, autonomy and gives learners the opportunity to take responsibility of their own learning. This paper aims to find out the impact of flipped classroom in decreasing learners’ anxiety during oral communication class. Fifty-eight first year English students at the Ecole Normal Superieur ‘Assia Djebar’, Constantine have participated in answering a questionnaire about their perceptions and views concerning the role of flipped classroom strategy in decreasing learners’ anxiety while speaking. Results concluded that flipped classroom is an effective strategy in decreasing learners’ anxiety during oral communication classroom by improving their language aspects, motivation and self-confidence. The study suggests integrating flipped classroom strategy in the different subjects at the English department.
