The Family's Cultural Capital And Its Reflections On The University Student

Abstract
The university is considered the primary source of knowledge and science, and it plays a crucial role in shaping a student’s future by guiding their academic orientation, which is manifested through their personal cultural capital. This cultural capital reflects students’ interests, largely influenced by the familial cultural capital that is reproduced in their children. To achieve the objectives of this study which aims to explore the impact of the Algerian family’s cultural capital on the academic orientation of their children in which a descriptive approach was adopted, and an interview-based questionnaire was conducted with a group of students at Chadli Bendjedid University – El Tarf. The study found that the educational and linguistic level, as well as the material (economic) condition of Algerian families, clearly influence students' choices of university specialization. The family tends to reproduce itself: students from well-off families demonstrate more academic development, and similarly, a more school-compatible linguistic pattern is observed among them, leading to stronger representation in universities. تعتبر الجامعة المصدر الأساسي للخبرة إذ تلعب دورا هاما في تحديد مستقبل الطالب، من خلال اختيار توجهه الجامعي الذي يتمظهر في الرأسمال الثقافي الخاص به واهتماماته الناتج هذا الأخير عن تأثير الرأسمال الثقافي الأسري لتعيد إنتاجه في الأبناء، وتحقيقا لأهداف الدراسة التي تصبو إلى التعرف على انعكاسات الرأسمال الثقافي للأسرة على التوجه العلمي للأبناء، تم اعتماد المنهج الوصفي واستمارة بالمقابلة كأداة للدراسة التي طبقت على مجموعة من الطلبة بجامعة الشاذلي بن جديد – الطارف - وقد تم التوصل من خلال هذه الدراسة إلى أن للمستوى التعليمي واللغوي كذلك الجانب المادي انعكاس على توجهات الطلبة، فالأسرة تقوم بإعادة إنتاج نفسها، حيث أن أبناء الفئات الميسورة يبرهنون على مستوى من النمو العملي، وكذلك الشأن بالنسبة نمط لغوي أكثر تلاؤما مع متطلبات المدرسة، فيصبح تمثيلهم أقوى في الجامعات وخاصة بالنسبة لنوع التوجه العلمي.
