The Role Of Souf Residents’ Mindset And Social Traits In The Success Of Agricultural Transformation: A Field Study In The Souf Region

الملخص
يستعرض هذا المقال التحولات الزراعية التي شهدتها منطقة سوف الجزائرية، مع التركيز على دور الذهنية السوفيّة والخصائص الاجتماعية والثقافية التي ساهمت في النجاح الزراعي في هذه المنطقة الصحراوية. من خلال دراسة ميدانية شملت 120 عينة، توصلنا إلى أن الفلاح السوفي يمتلك خصائص ذهنية وعادات اجتماعية مكنته من مواجهة التحديات البيئية والتكيف مع الظروف الطبيعية الصعبة. تشير النتائج إلى أن تقديس العمل، والنشأة الاجتماعية، وتحديد العلاقة مع الطبيعة، كانت عوامل أساسية في تحقيق هذا التحول الزراعي. كما يناقش المقال أهمية الأخذ في الاعتبار الجوانب الاجتماعية والثقافية عند رسم السياسات الزراعية المستقبلية في المنطقة This article explores the agricultural transformations that have taken place in the Souf region of Algeria, with a particular focus on the role of the local mindset (mentalité soufienne) and the socio-cultural characteristics that contributed to agricultural success in this harsh desert environment. Based on a field study involving 120 farmers selected from five municipalities for their leadership in land reclamation and plant production, the findings reveal that Soufian farmers possess a distinctive mindset shaped by a strong work ethic, cohesive social upbringing, and a harmonious relationship with nature. These factors enabled them to overcome environmental challenges and achieve notable agricultural progress. The article argues for the importance of incorporating social and cultural dimensions into future agricultural policy planning in the region.
