Literary Genre In Transformation: Between Intertwined Forms And Interdisciplinary Readings

Authors : Zerkane Maroua . Mezaache Mourad .

Abstract

This study aims to trace the transformation of the concept of "literary genre" from a normative framework to a descriptive approach, under the influence of interwriting and genre boundary dissolution. It adopts a descriptive-analytical methodology, using tools from deconstruction, semiotics, and discourse theory to examine the link between genre theory and textual practice. Drawing on critical models such as Douma, Todorov, Bakhtin, and Derrida, the study explores how modern texts transcend the notion of “genre purity.” The findings show that interdiscursivity is not merely an artistic phenomenon but an epistemological and aesthetic awareness that challenges rigid classifications and calls for a rethinking of literary reading and teaching methods.
